Autism Assessments

We provide gold standard autism assessments with experienced clinicians. We see the assessment process as highlighting both the strengths and difficulties of your child, and provide thorough recommendations of how to best support them.

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN AN AUTISM ASSESSMENT?

  • A detailed developmental history of the young person with their parents.

  • A structured observation of the young person in clinic using the ADOS-2, which is a standardised tool to assess for Autism.

  • An observation of the young person in school where required.

  • Information from someone who knows the young person well in a different setting e.g. information from a place of education by a class teacher.

  • Review of other professional reports.

  • A review meeting with all clinicians involved in the young person's Autism assessment.

  • A detailed feedback session is provided for parents.

  • Comprehensive report is provided, which includes specific recommendations based on the young person's needs.
