Post diagnostic support sessions - with Melissa Dean, Specialist Speech & Language Therapist

Following a diagnosis of autism it can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming for parents. You may be thinking where do we start with all the recommendations? What do we do first? Or it could be several years following a diagnosis, situations have arisen at school and home and you have become a little stuck in trying to work out how to help your child.

Melissa, our Specialist Speech and Language Therapist has worked for many years in the area of autism assessment and post diagnostic support and in a range of educational settings, including mainstream, special school and autism resource units. She can offer some post diagnostic sessions to ‘get you started’ and assist in creating a plan with clear targets for your child/young person. Each child and young person is different and will of course have a different profile of strengths and needs.

Melissa can create a bespoke package to match the needs of your child. This could include a visit to your child’s school or home to model communication strategies and of course be available for troubleshooting.
